Democrats: what should be our priorties this time out?

I watch, in stunned disbelief, as once again the more liberal factions within the Democratic party demand to have their banners at the front of the parade. It is utter childishness, and a certain formula for ultimate defeat, to wave the banners of gay rights, immigration reform, gun control, women's issues, racial issues while this country is in very real danger from enemies of freedom, both foreign and domestic. The gargantuan banking and insurance industries are being allowed to commit what amounts to theft of our very identities while lawmakers provide them shields of immunity. Our right to privacy is being now routinely violated with impugnity in the name of commerce. Our civil rights are being thrown on the bonfires of fear in a blind panic to protect us out of existence. Our schools have become little more than indoctrination camps, where the only diversity not celebrated, but openly rebuked, is diversity of opinion. Orwell's "newspeak" is now codified in our laws . . . . . . . and, so, I ask you: is it time to rethink our priorities, unite under one banner, and throw all our efforts behind winning the next presidential election?

Your priority should be studying the Rep party seriously! Then ask yourself why on earth were you ever Dem! An eye opening experience for sure! Silliness is curable!
I am a Independent/republican hoping for Democrats to win me over, but it's not happening yet. First Off. National Health Care would be horrible for our economy. Just look at Europe. Anyway, everyone especially the poor has access to free healthcare. I know 1st hand as at 1 point I took advantage of it. Got free Dr. Visits, Free Dental, vision, Presciptions. It was called CareSource. It's all Free. SO we don't need National Health Care. That is just a Ploy the Dems use to take our Focus off the real true issue. The Fact they are for Gay rights is just plan Gay. Why should you have special unions because you like sex with same gender? Again the Dems Catering to the very minority group. And Dennis Kousenich (sp) of Ohio is a Joke. In one Answer about Blacks receiving money from slavery he somehow quotes the bible. Like all of a sudden he is a relgious man. Then in the next question he goes on to say gays can be married. Which goes against the bible. He is contradicting himself and his belief. And Sadly the one Dem I did like (Obama) showed his inexperience when he said he'd meet with leader of rouge nations without post meetings etc.. and John Edwards, Hilliary and others actually called him out on this one making Obama look like a true rookie that he is. This actually pulled me closer to choosing Edwards as the Democrat guy to pick for the Dems
Keep talking like that, and somebody might actually mistaken you for a free thinker, AKA an independent! There is no place for such talk in either the Democratic or Republican parties. Party members must form neat little lines just behind the party banners and support the party chosen candidates and issues, no matter how utterly absurd, insane, or ridiculous. How do you think Bush got re-elected in the first place? I should warn you, once you go down that path of logic, reason, and the ability to think for yourself without latching on to some corrupt political party's outdated concepts of reality, you can never again return to the fold! As an independent, prepare to spend the rest of your election days at home. Your dream candidate will never make the ballot. And even if he/she does, you will be the only person voting for them. Might as well give up on all that "progressive" free thinker junk now, and pick your poison. Do you wanna go with the dumbos, or the jackasses? Just pick already. It doesn't really matter. Either way, you lose. Remember -- everything is black and white. If you're not with us, you're against us. If you're not a neocon, you must be a filthy bleeding heart lib. These concepts you speak of aren't on any agendas. In fact, the powers that be would probably take offense to you even raising such issues. Never mind all that global security and civil liberty crap. All that matters is whether you support the communist tree-hugging degenerates, or the gun-toting trigger happy bible thumpers. After all, every American can conveniently be categorized into one of these two nifty little niches. Sell out now! You WILL be assimilated!
The Democratic party has been infiltrated by gays and tree hugging liberals. Where are our bleeding harts when it comes to abortion? Seems they left our party as well and joined that group who hijacked the fraze "higher ground" As an old South democrat. I do not condone turning children away from any school based on the color of there skin. Never have. If our dear Hillary or any other democrat wants to carry the South there are a few things they need to consider, #1. Most will not vote for abortion. #2. Most get really ticked off when some idiot starts talking about gun control. #3. Guy marriage is against nature and the few votes one might gain by being for it will by no means match the number of votes lost because of it. #4. We do need to protect our environment, rain forests and old growth trees. #5. We need to understand that if one man, Sadum Husain could control the Iraqis but the most powerful nation on Earth can not, than something is wrong. The democratic party has left me and my family. I want it back or I'll stay home. Friends and other family members seem to fell the same. B. Obama by refusing to be seen with his white Grandmother is coming off as bigoted at least to some degree. When my party looses another election, this time to a man who hasn't even thrown his hat in the ring, then I'll be through with it for good. I voted for Ike, Ronald and George Sr. I'm not above turning my back again. Either that or stay home. Thanks for the thought provoking question.
