Id theft victim with 4 judgements. Can I have them reversed? Please help.?

My father stole my identity. I found out only after 4 judgements have been levied already. I have filed a police report and hope that the PA will file charges against my father. How can I get the judgements taken care of. I have already moved my money solely to my wife's name to keep it from being confiscated. Please help.

  1. This website may help (it is the Federal Trade Commission's website on how to deal with that): http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/idtheft/
  2. In order for there to be 4 judgments against you, there must have been 4 lawsuits started against you. If you were served with a summons in each and failed to appear, you may have a problem. If you were never served with a summons because some bogus address was listed on the accounts by your father, then you have to file an appropriate motion in each case seeking to vacate the judgments and seeking to stay all collection action. You have to usually demonstrate excusable default (why you never answered the summons and complaint) and show you have a meritorious defense (that you were a victim of identity theft). You may need a lawyer to do this, as it is not that simple to do correctly.
