Can dog tags issued be used for ID theft?
If so, how can this be prevented?

- Absolutely... military dog-tags have the owner's name, SSN (Social Security Number), and DOB (Date Of Birth) !! How to prevent it ? Well, don't LOSE your dog-tags !! ALSO, make punishment for ID theft a straight out felony punishable by minumum 2 years at hard labor with seizure of all the convicts assets. Tack on an additional year for each $5,000 dollars the thief took with any identity.
